Rue’s Story
In the initial phase of her transition from fashion blogger to menstrual health educator, Rue faced several challenges. She confessed, "I was finding it hard to find how I can do things differently as a menstrual health educator." Understanding these concerns, we jointly set out on a journey to create a lasting and impactful brand identity.
The first major step was choosing a new persona, @menstrualbae. Reflecting on this, Rue said, "In the simplest way, you explain something and Koko literally makes it a masterpiece." This embodiment of Rue's new journey was visually represented through an illustrative avatar. I crafted this avatar of Rue holding a pad, seamlessly aligning with the core of her mission, while maintaining a youthful appeal.
The color palette of orange, warm yellow, light pink, and brown was chosen to reflect the brand's warmth, energy, and reliability. The groovy '70s inspired text was an homage to a pivotal era of women's rights and health, resonating with the brand's mission and adding a playful, engaging element for the younger audience.
