Trust over trend
Visibility is cheap now. Credibility is not. The gap between the two is where most brands quietly lose the room.

Any brand with a budget can be seen. The mechanics of being seen have been commoditised, which means visibility no longer signals anything about quality, seriousness or staying power.
What has not been commoditised is trust. Trust is slow, specific and difficult to fake, which is exactly why it still functions as a signal. It is also the thing that determines whether a launch converts, whether a partner returns your call after a bad quarter, and whether an audience defends you when you make a mistake.
Attention is rented. Trust is the only thing you own outright.
The mistake I see most often is treating trust as a communications output. It is not. It is a consequence of consistency between what an organisation says in public and what it does when nobody is filming. Communications can reveal that consistency. It cannot manufacture it.
Practically, that changes the order of work. Before positioning, before campaign, before any content calendar, the question is whether the thing being described is actually true and repeatable. If it is not, the best strategy in the world buys a spike followed by a correction.
Attention is rented. Trust is the only thing you own outright. Build for the second and the first arrives as a by-product.
