Context

Getting students out of Ukraine solved the first problem. The second was where they slept. The partnership with airbnb.org turned attention into beds while the borders were still moving.

My role

Partnership · Housing Logistics

  • Built and ran the referral pipeline between our coordination desk and airbnb.org.
  • Triaged requests by location and urgency, from Sumy and Kharkiv through to Budapest, Warsaw and Bucharest.
  • Placed people into homes across Hungary, Poland and Romania as routes opened and closed.
  • Kept the public account of the work accurate while the placements ran.
