Exec Branch 2026: LEGACY

Zimbabwe and the UK · 2026 · 2026, fifth anniversary conference

Context

By its fifth year, The Executive Branch had grown beyond a conference. Ruth Kudzai had built a community of ambitious Black women who came to EB for connection, perspective and access to opportunities. The question for 2026 was how to honour that journey while building something that would continue to serve women after they left the room.

My role

Narrative Strategy · Programme · Partnerships

  • Shaped the fifth year narrative and developed the UK conference programme, including speaker bookings and the sequence of sessions.
  • A programme with a purpose: the day explored the woman behind the work, success and its costs, practical foundations for building a legacy, and the relationships that help an idea grow.
  • Moderated Built Different: Women Creating Legacy Across Industries, bringing different perspectives on leadership and lasting impact into one conversation.
  • Co-developed the conference companion app as a digital home for delegates: programme and session information, attendee profiles, an opt-in directory and digital business cards.
  • The app's A.I.M. commitment, an Action, Intention and Measure for what delegates would do next, replacing the printed programme with something they could return to afterwards.
  • Co-developed the launch of Exec Branch Membership, a connected, year round ecosystem of learning, resources, relationships and ongoing opportunities.
  • Worked on partnerships and sponsorships and brought Tide on board for the UK conference, supporting practical conversations about enterprise and financial confidence.

The case

The problem

The question for 2026 was how to honour five years of community while building something that would continue to serve women after they left the room.

The insight

The conference could honour the journey, but it could not carry it alone. The next chapter needed a programme with a purpose, a companion app that made the room more connected, and a membership built for what happens next.

Execution

I shaped the LEGACY: Build What Outlives You theme across the event narrative, programme, partnerships and digital experiences for the Zimbabwe and UK editions, moderated a mainstage session, and co-developed the companion app and Exec Branch Membership alongside the conference.

Result

650+ delegates across the Zimbabwe and UK LEGACY editions, 190 tickets sold out for the UK conference, and a companion app and membership launched as part of EB's next chapter.

What it proves

Narrative and programme work that turns a one day event into a year round ecosystem.

Platforms launched: companion app and membership

LEGACY celebrated five years of The Executive Branch while helping establish what came next: a conference experience connected to a platform that can support women throughout the year.

This project brought together the parts of my work I value most: seeing the bigger vision, shaping the story, bringing the right people into it and helping build the systems that allow it to grow.
